How it works

Colour, light, composition, texture, casting, symbols, setting, mood, motion, type and voice — each one a single principle with a “do” and a “don’t” drawn side by side, so a photographer, editor or designer can pick it up and make something that belongs.

Before anything meets the world: is it more distinct? What will they feel? Does it compound?
